Thailand Woos Export Customers with D-Tiger T4x4 Vehicle

Thai Defense Industry (TDI) is optimistic that its new D-Tiger 4×4 armoured tactical vehicle will find multiple buyers in the export market.

The company unveiled the vehicle at the ongoing show. the Philippines has expressed interest in the vehicle and is likely to be the inaugural customer. The vehicle is being marketed keeping export customers in mind.

TDI is a joint venture between the Thai MoD’s Defense Technology Institute (DTI) and Chaiseri. It was founded earlier this year to develop and build the D-Tiger for government-to-government sales.

The Philippines has signed an MoU for the purchase of 200 vehicles of the type. These will be built in Chaiseri’s factory in Pathum Thani Province, Thailand. The vehicles, which are designed for use as an infantry combat, patrol, surveillance or command-and-control vehicle, is based on the First Win from Chaiseri, which is in service with the Royal Thai Army and has been sold to other countries.
