TÜBİTAK Impresses with Depth of Domestic Defence Technologies

: Oct 25, 2024 - : 2:30 am

To understand the range and depth of defence technologies being produced by Turkish defence companies, all one needs to do is to take a look at the products that the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) is showcasing at the ongoing event.

Among the new products that TÜBİTAK has brought to the event is the New Generation Ballistic System developed by TÜBİTAK UZAY. The system showcases the progress Türkiye has made in ballistic analysis technologies. Also in the limelight are the National Combat Aircraft (MMU) Life Support System and MMU Explosion Prevention System developed by TÜBİTAK MAM. According to officials, these systems help in ensuring aircraft safety and pilot health. KIZILGÖZ and TİNAD systems developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE are advanced surveillance and ammunition solutions, which are likely to attract much international attention. S-FORCE, a new weapon system that combines high power and precision strike capability, is also likely to have many takers.

The synergy between different entities working in the Turkish defence sector is on display at the ongoing event. TÜBİTAK SAGE and Baykar are working together for the “BOZOK Ammunition Order” while TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, SSB and Havelsan are collaborating within the scope of the “TSK Cloud Computing System.” TÜBİTAK SAGE and Roketsan are cooperating in R&D for new product development and improvement of existing products. TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and Havelsan have inked a contract for the supply of the Message Operating System (MİS) for the 6th-12th ships of the MİLGEM Project.

In a fillip to the Kaan fighter jet project, TÜBİTAK and TUSAŞ (Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc.) are working in tandem on the second phase of the development of life support and explosion prevention systems for the fifth-generation combat jet. Detailed design and qualification studies for the jet’s flight control and mission management platforms will be carried out as part of the Integrated Processor Unit (ICU) agreement signed by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and TUSAŞ.
