Turkish Aerospace Exploring for Vietnamese Market Entry

Turkish Aerospace is eyeing Vietnamese defence requirements with its maiden participation at the ongoing show. Just like many defence companies participating at the show in Hanoi, it hopes to interact with key decision makes in the Vietnamese Government and military. Its presence at the show is an initial effort to introduce the company and its products for the Vietnamese market.


Commenting on its maiden participation at the Vietnam International Defence Expo, a company official that there was keen interest in its presence here, with high-level delegations and end-users, not only from Vietnam, but other nations also making visits.
The company is showcasing its range of manned and unmanned aerial platforms at the show. Vietnam is said to have a requirement for drones in the class of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV).


Malaysia and Indonesia are the SE Asian customers for the Anka Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) UAVs, having ordered three and 12 units respectively. Deliveries of the MALE drones to the latter are slated for completion in 2026.


Market opportunities could also arise for with regards to its Gokbey six-tonne medium helicopter. The first T625 was delivered to the Turkish military police (Gendarmerie) in October this year. The T625 Gokbey has received Turkish military certification and is the first helicopter to be designed, developed and manufactured in Turkey. Turkish Aerospace is also seeking civilian certification for the T625 GOKBEY.


In an important announcement, Turkey’s Presidency of Defense Industries had announced yesterday, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Spanish Ministry of Defense, that will form the basis of cooperation with Spain on a jet aircraft training project. Both nations will further develop Turkish Aerospace’s ‘Hurjet’ Advanced Jet Trainer (AJT) as part of the agreement.
