Vietjet Adds Four Aircraft for Tet Holiday Season

Yulian Ardiansyah - : Jan 10, 2024 - : 9:41 pm

Vietjet, Vietnam’s first privately owned low-cost airline based in Hanoi, announced that the company has received four wet-leased aircraft to better accommodate travel demands during the Tet holiday season this year.

Also known as the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, the Tet holiday is usually celebrated in tandem with the Chinese New Year, which falls on 10 February this year. It is also traditionally regarded as an occasion for pilgrimage and family reunions.

This year’s Tet holiday season sees Vietjet offering 0 VND ticket prices – excluding taxes and fees – on select days until 10 February 2024. The airline is also offering a 20% discount on Business, and Skyboss tickets during a special golden week which ends on 16 January next week.

Under the occasion, Vietjet will also offer traditional Vietnamese Tet meals on its flights. Passengers can taste and experience Vietnamese delicacies such as Chung cake, Pho Thin, and Banh mi together with a wide selection of international cuisine.

To further ensure a more pleasant flight experience, the airline has added check-in kiosks in airports while also encouraging online check-ins for its passengers. These measures are intended to save time as well as to reduce airport congestion during the busy holiday season.

Established in 2007 and commenced its first operation in 2011, Vietjet has become one of the largest airlines in Southeast Asia. With a total fleet of 103 aircraft, the airline is currently serving more than 45 destinations across Asia. The airline is also recently listed as one of the world’s safest airlines by AirlineRatings, the world’s famous airline safety and product rating website.
