WESCAM MX-Series Sees a Market in MENA Region

Our Bureau - : Oct 23, 2024 - : 3:04 am

L3Harris is showcasing its WESCAM MX-Series of multi-sensors, and infrared (EO/IR) surveillance systems for platforms across the air, land and maritime domains.

L3Harris has an airborne portfolio of multi-sensor, multi-spectral systems that are deployed worldwide, at varying ranges, and with overlapping fields-of-view, creating the opportunity for uninterrupted surveillance of borders, forward operating bases, airfields and other vital assets. These imaging and targeting systems are found on more than 260 different types of platforms, including fixed-wing, rotor-wing, UAV and aerostat platforms.

“Within our product portfolio is a series of systems that encourage ease and familiarity of use, simplified turret interchangeability within fleets, efficiencies in technology enhancements and overall system support. Featuring common electronics and cabling, common user interfaces and video overlays, and common software and internal components, this family is known as the WESCAM MX-Series,” a company official explained.

On display are: the WESCAM MX-8 EO/IR fully-digital ultra-low-weight imaging system – ideal for small manned or unmanned aircraft carrying out tactical-level surveillance and reconnaissance missions, the WESCAM MX-10 EO/IR low-weight imaging system – ideal for low-altitude tactical surveillance and reconnaissance missions, the WESCAM MX-15 EO/IR imaging system – used for medium-altitude covert surveillance, reconnaissance and search and rescue missions, the WESCAM MX-20 EO/IR imaging system – ideal for high-altitude, and the WESCAM MX-25 EO/IR imaging system – ideal for ultra-high, long-endurance surveillance and reconnaissance missions from manned and unmanned airborne platforms.

“Because today’s mission requirements demand identification and designation from longer standoff ranges, WESCAM MX-Series products are engineered to focus on the three factors that drive maximum range: resolution, magnification and stabilization,” the official added.
