Malaysia’s Weststar Defence Industries has partnered with International Armored Group (IAG) to display the IAG Guardian Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) for the first time at DSA. Weststar Defence Industries was the main contractor for MINDEF’s STARStreak VSHORAD Thales Air Defence Limited UK system and has also supplied a variety of vehicles to the Malaysian armed forces.
The IAG Guardian is available for sale to Government, Military and Law Enforcement users only. It can seat up to 10 occupants and is available in LHD or RHD variants and is offered with four diesel engine options ranging from 6.2 L to 7.3 L.It features a high level of ballistic and blast resistance, superior handling and off-road capability and commercial part compatibility resulting in low maintenance costs.
The Guardian features full vehicle armouring with certified ballistic material, including front, sides, rear, roof, and floor, designed to resist incoming ballistic threats from any angle. The vehicle body is fully armoured to defeat multiple hits from high power rifles and light machine guns.
The IAG Guardian is offered with various armouring packages rated up to multiple impacts from powerful rifle ammunition CEN B6/Stanag Level 1.
